Yeah, I would actually love to know about gender on Asgard and how that affects your upbringing (I too get the sense that women are relegated to the magic/healing spheres), but I think it's telling that Thor himself is very respectful of the various roles women have on Earth (Black Widow is a warrior, Jane is a scientist, Izzy from the diner is a public servant, etc.). Also I like that he never gets bro-y about Jane or really even ogles her or any lady ever. I think his mother had a lot to do with how much he clearly respects and honors women, when his father and brother clearly don't LOL.

I also have a lot of feelings about how this movie and Thor himself subvert typical hypermasculine stereotypes, but that's for another comment probably, haha.

Yeah, I think his mother would have been a strong influence on how he views women. (Obviously it didn't work on Loki but Loki is a whole other mess.)
