Re: Ghostbusters officially most hated movie trailer on youtube.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-03 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
No.

I love original Ghostbusters. It's a big part of my childhood. I worry that my enthusiasm for the new movie is misplaced but I think it looks really good and I love the cast.

The new trailer is hated because old-time fans want Ghostbusters 3. I still want GB3. We'll never have it because Bill Murray doesn't want to do it and because Harold Ramis has passed away (God bless him.) Yes, the Red Pill fools are among that crowd but I think it's wrong, maybe even sexist, to say the hate is all due to sexism. If a GB remake was made with a cast of the brightest male stars in comedy instead of the brightest female stars then there would still be people up in arms because The Internet Hates Remakes. And for good reason!

I did not want a remake and, in theory, I am still against remakes because they're uncreative and cheap. But I get nothing but good feels from this new Ghostbusters. If it turns out bad, we'll always have the original. And I'm more worried about these other Ghostbusters projects because they reek of studio panic from the backlash to the mere existence of this GB project.
