Funny, Tifa became my favorite character after replaying it not that long ago. But on the whole? I agree with you for the most part.

The naive part of me hopes that maybe this will be rectified in the FF7 remake, but ah... modern day Squenix/post-Compilation of FF7 gives me absolutely no hope that Tifa will be given proper character development outside of being an accessory to Cloud. :/
