People can have different interpretations and that's okay, OP. Nothing to get bent out of shape for. I liked Clara. I thought she was a bit of a control freak and, while I didn't read her as suicidal post Danny, I did think she was being extra reckless. I'm curious, are you saying her relationship with Danny was abusive? How so? Their relationship wasn't well done IMO and Danny seemed to exist just to give Clara something to angst about, but it didn't read as abusive to me. Clara and the Doctor did love each other, but with Twelve, I thought it was more platonic than romantic.

I think your reading is off. Clara very much enjoyed being in the driver's seat, even as a passenger. And I don't think Danny was abusive or the relationship toxic. He had issues that were difficult for him to contend with, and it is possible that no matter how much they cared for each other that Clara wasn't the best long term partner for him.

That's sad, but it's also life.

With you on the first part, but I didn't find Danny abusive, just a bit of an ass. But I hated the relationship.
