he basic underlying idea (comparing Hamilton as an immigrant and narrative's about America's founding to typical rap narratives) is a really insightful one.

Writing a musical about an actual black person was clearly too risky.

I'm ashamed to live in a world where no one can see the hypocrisy that is Hamilton.

He didn't start by thinking "I'll write a rap musical, who should it be about?", he started knowing he'd write about Hamilton and then deciding that his rags-to-riches type life story fit well with rap. He was never going to write about a black person, you're being an idiot.

Nah, they're not an idiot. You might be though. The fact that a musical about an actual black founding father hasn't been made but this was very successful shows how we can't as a society still don't seem ready for POC works. Hamilton isn't evil for doing so, but damn they should have just made a musical about the actual POC who built America. Having all these black actors mock each other over knowing "who does the real planting" just seems stupid, like white people attacking each other for being white.
