Do you remember - since you seem to know Bob Hope's movies - a movie he was in about a hotel in the desert in WWii, and they would all run around, changing everything to pretend to be 'pro' German or 'pro' French or whoever came trucking across the sand....?

And the ending had everybody going to the hotel at once and they didn't know what to do....

I *think* it was Bob Hope.....

Now, I haven't seen the movie you're describing, but it sounds like that might be Call Me Bwana. Possibly? I'll double check. It certainly *sounds* like a movie Bob Hope would be in...
