Honestly if the other person is so uncaring that they can't even make time for a proper breakup conversation they deserve what they get.

Kelly is the absolute shit. I have that CD somewhere, even.

Kelly and Heather the Vampire continue to crack me up to this day. "Let Me Borrow That Top" and "Heather's Halloween" are my favorites.

My favorite was No Booty Calls, and a couple of other LKS skits that were done later. Kelly's lesbian aunt was just pure gold.

So excited that he's bringing Kelly back again.

99% of the time I would not recommend this, but I do think this (or Facebook, or whatever) is acceptable if and only if the other person literally will not give you the time of day for an extended period of time. I have done it for that reason. Phone is preferable, but not always possible.

This is a bit controversial, but in cases like this where you've emphasized that you need to talk and its really, really important and assuming your gf isn't legitimately too busy with work/family stuff, I think a break up via e-mail or letter is fine.

I finally left a message on Skype because that's our main form of communication since she finished school and moved back with her parents (our phones haven't ever wanted to text each other for some weird reason we never figured out and she doesn't like talking on the phone). I would have preferred to wait until she was around instead of dumping a message there for her to find but over the last months she's had a habit of disappearing for days at a time with no explanation and I wanted to get this out before I lost my nerve. That was over 14 hours ago and there's been no response. I don't even know if I can expect one at all this week, given the way she is sometimes.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like this might be for the best. It's entirely fair for you to want a girlfriend who makes time for you, or at least communicates with you regularly even if she can't spend a lot of time skyping, etc.

I'm sure it is for the best. Some of my friends are amazed I put up with it for this long. I'm just frustrated and want it to be over.

I think this is a reasonable approach tbh. I have been in your situation and honestly, having an SO who disappears for DAYS without communication has not only happened to me before, but is one of the only things in the world that gives me straight-up anxiety. With one of those relationships I broke up over Facebook after literally several weeks of trying to communicate with him. He never responded, though he unfriended me a couple weeks later (lol whatever bye dude).

Sucks you had to go to that lengths to say, "COME HERE SO I CAN BREAK UP WITH YOU DAMMIT" but it really sounds like this is what's best for you. I'm sorry though. :( Ice cream and nice movies?

Thanks. I'm okay though. I feel like I worked through most of this before I actually got myself to do it.

When I broke up with my first, and only really long-term, boyfriend, the dominant feeling I had for the next few days was relief, even though it was still a completely heartbreaking experience. The tension of wondering if he'd finally call me today, tomorrow, the next day, ever, was horrible.

This is utterly adorable!
