Well, it's nice that it helps you. I personally avoid as much as possible any kind of cringe compilation because it does the opposite for me. Makes me lose faith in humanity sometimes.

If they're full of spelling errors and the plot goes nowhere, chances are I won't have time to notice if the characterization is good and just drop it. Now, if it has an interesting plot I may hate-read it if the OOCness is even that worse than in other fics.

Of fanfic? Maybe. The thing with fanfic is that it's very tropey in a very specific way and certain styles/plots/characterizations are popular so you see them again and again even if you switch fandoms. Do you have the same problems with published fiction? Have you tried switching up what genres you read? Or maybe kick back with some cool non fiction for a while and give yourself a break.
