It depends? If you have the mold, that's one way to do it, but I think the original way was crumbled up cake + frosting, and shaped (because then the molds were made afterwards to capitalize on the popularity, IIRC? Or something similar? All I know is I was making crumbled up cake + frosting cake pops like, 7~8 years ago.)

I have no clue, but the mold-thing is the only way I've ever seen them made.
C'mon, you gotta move with the times! They're probably...just like cake on a stick, now. :)
(I've never actually had one, icing made by people other than my mom is generally way too sticky-sweet for me.)

Weird. :O

IDK, I actually like the cake-pops that are held together w/ frosting; it's just, the ratio of cake:frosting has to be just right, but when it is, I love it. :D
