Who can you forgive quicker: Azealia Banks or Emma Watson?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Emma Watson. Obviously. What the fuck are you even on about?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Who is the first one?

2. What did they do to me?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
She is a rapper, and - with all compassion and understanding to her if she's dealing with mental illness, and to everyone else who deals with mental illness - batshit fucking crazy.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I'm not sure if that's something I'm qualified to forgive.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Shes a rapper.

2. Ms Banks attacked a member of 1D for stealing from her, Ms Watson allegedly committed Tax evasion

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ms Banks did a lot of weirder stuff than that

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
You're really skimming over the fact she called the 1D member a "curry scented bitch" and then got an argument with a 14 year old and the 14 year old won?

To be more specific since everyone else has gone the 'she crazy' route, she decided Zayn Malik was stealing her ideas (and later became convinced he'd leaked her personal phone number) and went on a several hour long twitter rant directed towards him in which she made derogetory comments about his sexuality and the fact that he's not white. Which is really weird because she then complained that some of his fans were using the same slurs against her, and because she's usually very anti-racism to the point where she loops back around to ranting slurs.

Also, she physically assaulted some people.

Also, she physically assaulted some people.

Bullshit.

The rest of this is debatable, but Also, she physically assaulted some people. is such utter unprovable bullshit.

I don't see how the rest is debatable at all, but I will amend to 'She allegedly assaulted some people in front of witnesses on two separate occasions and at least one person pressed charges which were eventually dropped for lack of physical evidence.'

How is that even a question? The internet will forgive Emma Watson far quicker. I mean, she didn't go on a racist and homophobic rant (which continues other racist and homophobic rants).

Yeah, this. Watson's role in the tax evasion scandal is still murky at best, anyway and seems to be related to a property deal. Pretty far cry from Banks' little tantrum that got her BANNED FROM TWITTER.

I guess a concert she was supposed to be in dropped her as well.

The Internet will forgive Emma Watson very fast if they haven't already.

Also, what'd she do?

She's recently been named in that big tax evasion scandal. Her spokespeople say it's because she used an offshore bank to maintain privacy during a property purchase. Must be nice, I guess.

Wowie. Panama Papers?

[personal profile] dethtoll 2016-05-12 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I think that's valid. Given the harassment she faces today, taking drastic steps to protect her safety is not something i can really judge, if it's true.

Also, something else people are forgetting: As smart as she is, I don't think she cooked up this scheme herself. Her accountant was almost certainly responsible. He would have offered her a way to keep her money and identity safe, not explained the sketchiness of it, and she, not being a tax expert, would have agreed to it.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, right now we don't know if Watson has done anything illegal, and won't know until a forensic accountant takes a closer look at her books and tax records.

Banks, in contrast, has a running history of foot-in-mouth disease.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Watson. I just really don't give a shit if any individual gets up to tax shenanigans. Especially when you're talking about a multi-millionaire who's got a team of 'people' to handle all that shit for her, and who might have only the vaguest understanding of where all her money is at any given time.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing for me to forgive.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-13 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
There is, in fact, nothing wrong with an artist creating a corporation to handle some assets and protect other assets. In fact, that's a highly recommended practice, as long as someone is doing the necessary accounting and reporting to the necessary authorities.
