This is sort of tangential to the secret, but...

I never liked Ed and Winry as a romantic couple. Their interaction always seemed more sibling-like than romantic to me, and I felt like them getting together at the end wasn't a natural progression of their characters, but more of a "they get together because that is the Way You Have A Happy Ending."

I... Sort of agree with this, depending on my mood. Sometimes I do really like them together and it makes me feel happy and fuzzy, but other times I much, much prefer seeing them as the best of friends.

I totally agree! I've always disliked Ed/Winry as a romantic pairing. I just can't see them as anything other than siblings. That part of the ending felt really forced, to me.
