Renewed/Cancelled TV Shows

Castle is gone but Sleepy Hollow got another season.

Here are a couple of lists with what is canceled, what is renewed, and what is undecided.

Can't believe Agents of Dull keeps on trucking when the two most interesting characters' spin off show gets pre-cancelled.

Was there going to be a Hunter/Bobbi show?

That is why they got written out of the parent show the way they did, to open the way of the show to be called "Marvel's Most Wanted" and everyone was superhyped for it and casting was well underway, scripts solicited, and then it just got canned along with Agent Carter.

Most of the shows I watched are a given to return (Game of Thrones, Bob's Burgers, Fargo, The Walking Dead). Glad to see my favorite new trash show, Shadowhunters, will still be on for at least another season.

It looks like NCIS has become the new CSI!

Very surprised about "Sleepy Hollow" being renewed. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out how to make season four work, but right now I'm not so sure.

I'm lucky in that the shows I watch have been renewed. I was amazed at the massive cancellation spree ABC and NBC went on the last couple days-I feel really bad for any fans of those shows.

I was surprised, too. While the show was kind of a crack-filled guilty pleasure, I'm not confident they can make it work without Abbie, and I'm not sure I want to see the results even if they do.

RIP Galavant :(

I'll miss Galavant. Realistically, there was like a 5% shot at renewal. But after the complete surprise of getting a second season, I had a lot of hope in that small chance.

Seven years after it got stale, Castle is finally cancelled. Thank god.

I feel a little bad for Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas, who gave their most handsome years to a show where 90 percent of what they did was bust into rooms yelling with guns waving or cockblocking Castle with mundane information. But I guess the got paid handsomely for it, so.

NAYRT - LOL. Accurate.

I wish they'd get their own spinoff, although it could be awkward. I found them much more interesting.

They were why I kept watching for as long as I did. They each got a couple really strong episodes that made all the wasted potential so much harder to deal with.

Until I started working in the industy, I felt bad for actors like them. But the truth is, they were probably intensely thankful for that show every time it renewed their contracts. The majority of actors have the maturity and realism to recognize that a good Best Case Scenario for them to aim for is never having to work a secondary job in order to pay their bills and live comfortably. If they can just be actors they've made it, they've succeeded, they're a-okay.

Ugh, when are they going to tell us if Code Black is renewed [hopefully S1 will get on DVD soon so I can get and the documentary it was spawned from for my mother]

Sometimes I felt like I was Grandfathered's only fan. I'm not surprised it got cancelled, but I'm still disappointed. At least Bob's Burgers got renewed.

Was that the one with Stamos? It was OK.

Still pissed that Galavant was canceled and OUAT wasn't. Also wtf Sleepy Hollow? Just fucking quit, without your star you suck now.

I'm not surprised Galavant got canceled (and I feel like with the finale they were definitely preparing for it themselves) but it was a good show to put on while OUAT was on hiatus.

OUAT should have been canned a while back though.

I kind of wanted New Girl to get canceled just because this past season was bad and I know if I am bored after work I'll watch it (they like completely changed Cece and Schmidt's backstory just to justify getting them together and now they're pulling the Nick and Jess bullshit again?)

I'm just glad Brooklyn Nine Nine was renewed.

Re: Renewed/Cancelled TV Shows

New Girl has been stale for awhile tbh. They do have occasional good scenes. Nowdays, I mostly watch it when there's nothing else to watch. I really dislike the pairings they're pushing, mainly because it's predictable. That's probably one of the things I hate about New Girl. They have these storylines that are always predictable.

I agree that it's been stale for a while but part of what I thought their strength was (when the show had more funny bits) was the friendships so I was disappointed at the romance being pushed again (especially with Jess and Nick since their romance became pretty unpopular the more it went on.)

I think I was kind of hoping after they broke the couples up maybe they'd go in a more unpredictable direction. It had hints of potential here and there but they seem to now be satisfied just rehashing sitcom tropes.

The ones I'm sad about are Carter, Galavant, and the Grinder. I would be sad about Castle, except that Castle without Beckett is not really Castle.

Re: Renewed/Cancelled TV Shows

I was kind of amused to see fans actually celebrating the cancellation of "Castle" :p. But I get why they would be happy about it, yeah, for the reasons you mentioned.

Aw. Grinder and Grandfathered both gone? That's too bad.
