They've chosen a bad picture.

He [she? What pronouns do we use with gender shifting?!] is on the top end ripped for a woman not abusing chemical assistance and before the change he doesn't look as ripped as the picture they've chosen.

Inconsistent art in the series and bad picture choice by the secret maker tbqh.

Er...this is literally one of the only colour photos of male!Kyou in the entire series, what else did you want me to do? Not to mention male!Kyou is just that ripped, seriously, when he comes out of the shower naked and stuff at the beginning, he's pretty damn massive. Not as tall and brick-shit-house as male!Souji but still very muscular. The pecs look funny because the artist was trying to draw them squished together because male!Kyou is crossing his arms. This same issue appears in other pictures where that pose is attempted.

Oh ok, that's cool then.

Pronouns depend on whether you are trying to make a point about gender politics, in which case always use original pronouns no matter how jarring, or whether you are just telling a fun story in which case go with the pronouns associated with the body. Obviously don't do this in real life, but in fiction different standards apply.
