For the kink, I know it's a weird one. I like when for magic or tech reasons characters undergo transformations to either switch sexes or end up functionally hermaphroditic, which leads to them exploring their new biology by themselves or with a partner. There were some SGA fics I think, and sometimes that crops up with Loki in Marvel fic, but it's not very common.

For the fic, this isn't the fandom or characters, but lets say it's Harry Potter. Harry gets hit with a spell that accidentally gives him both a dick and a vagina. And Draco his boyfriend comforts him, they start making out, and then Harry is shocked and disgusted by his vagina and shoves Draco away. Because he's a cis guy, and guys have penises and no guy could ever enjoy having a vagina and he's having really bad dysphoria about having a vagina. So he and Draco have to go find the right counterspell to fix him because there's no way he could even think of having sex with a vagina.

Then the author's notes were scolding people that fic with magical transformation like that are transphobic, because in reality there's no way anyone could enjoy something like that.

ugh, that's so dumb. I mean, if they had a pretty good idea that there was a counterspell out there, then I could see them wanting to have some fun with the whole thing first. I'm not saying they definitely would, but saying that it's impossible for them to is kind of stupid. I mean, if I suddenly had a penis and I knew for a fact that I could get my vagina back in a timely manner, then I would make a day out of the whole thing. I have no interest at all in being a man permanently and I would be extremely upset if I magically became one for the rest of my life, but if I had the chance to be one for a little while, then I would want to see what all the fuss about blow jobs is about. That author sounds like a pain in the ass

Oops, just re-read and realized that the Harry Potter thing was hypothetical. Still though, if it happened in a fandom where the characters knew for sure that the situation was reversible then I stand by my point

If I suddenly found myself with a dick...honestly, I am such a nerd, but I'd probably like...try to figure out what it was like to have one in a lot of different ways including mundane stuff like using the bathroom and figuring out how to comfortably wear pants. I'd just be super curious. But I'd want my own genitals back after a short while.

....yeaaaaah, that author is pulling some serious BS there. Because, you know, obviously, gender fluidity does not exist! There are only two genders and you must "be" completely one or the other and having any attributes of the other is horrifying! Even in universes where shapeshifting--- becoming a whole different species!--- is a thing! (Who the fuck is transphobic in that analysis? Hint: not the people with the genderswap kink.)

Wow. One of my favorite comic story lines is when Walter Langkowski (Sasquatch) is turned into a woman, starts going by the name Wanda, deals with the legal issues of having to prove who she really is to access her money...and then goes and has fun being a superhero, turns into a big flirt and suddenly finds a lot of the confidence she lacked when she was Walter.
