I've had genuine thinking-I'm-having-a-heart-attack panic attacks myself, and honestly, what helped most was repeatedly telling myself "It's not a big deal. You're having a panic attack. It sucks, but you're in no danger. Just keep it together so you don't frighten anyone else, and it will pass in its own time. As soon as possible, get someplace you can lie down."

What you're describing is a big deal. It's a complex situation that requires special attention and should be handled in a particular way. Saying "it's not a big deal" implies that THAT statement alone should be sufficient for you to "get over it", but clearly it takes much more than that.
