So I just recently discovered this and agar.io.

Does anyone else play them?

The controls for slither.io seem to be really wonky: I can use the arrows in order to have access to speed boosts, but it makes controlling direction really clunky and difficult, or I can use the mouse to control direction more finely, but it's not very responsive with the click-to-boost thing. :/

Slither.io iis more of a "hold the button and drag" than "click to boost."

I tried agar.io after finding slither, and I can't figure out how to do anything.

I'm getting a better hang of the timing of the slither controls.

Man, I wish my work didn't block those sites. I think there's going to be quite a bit of downtime today. Oh well that's what F!S and random silly blogs are for :P

I've got mitos.is which seems to be really related without me googling any further? But there's a lot of unfunny meme trolls because you can customise your cells image so may switch to one of these instead.

You can customize in agar.io as well but idk if there are trolls. I have been doing slither more because I like it better (and I don't fully understand how the controls in agar work).

I play agar.io when it actually works on my computer. I'm forever captainwgglebum. I've only played sither.io once but I wasn't able to get into it too much.

Idk what this is but it seems to fall into the same area as mitos.is so I am all for it!

This one seems to be prettier tho.

Also, good life goals!

Nah it's the people going forward with the elbow tactic that succeed most in life. You rarely get punished, let alone killed for being a selfish dick, so the slither.io analogy doesn't work here.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-15 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It does if "succeeding the most in life" isn't your goal in life. I don't al the best things or to be at the top of the heap to be happy and enjoy my life.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-15 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, but if you're too meek you'll also end up with people walking all over you.

I also want to add - forgot to say this the first time - that I legit have used flash games as a model for living my life (like time management, which is the bane of my actual existence but a fun puzzle for me in a resource management game) and I don't think there's anything wrong with getting positive inspiration where you can! :) If slither.io helped you figure out how to live your life in a positive way then I think that's awesome.

It's okay anon, I find great emotional comfort and solace from the Binding of Isaac, which I think it probably worse.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-17 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is worse. And awesome. And I understand you so much! :)

I only seem to do well in slither when I'm an asshole and try to trap people. Maybe I need to take a more aggressive approach in real life, haha.

I could've written this secret in my sleep! I've actually gotten up to the top 10 (and number 1 on several occasions) by just chilling out and not trying to be aggressive, I find that while being aggressive gets you a greater reward, it involves a whole lot of risk too.

That's interesting, I wondered about that last night. How long does it take to get to the top if you're just eating auto-spawned food? I think eating food spawned from a killed snake still involves a fair level of aggression because there are always other snakes who want it, and will try to take advantage of your pursuing the food to kill you too.

I have lucked into a big deposit of food a few times to rocket me up to medium-sized from the outset, and been quick enough to avoid other snakes cutting me off while eating a bunch of it. :3

(Anonymous) 2016-05-17 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
For me, it takes about 30-40 minutes with my strategy to get to number one, so it does take a while. However, it's great fun doing stuff like turning around at the last second so that a smaller snake can't get in front of you, I feel like such a splendid troll.

I often try to grab stuff from killed snakes as fast as I can and get out of there, and mostly try to avoid really densely-populated areas for the game.
