Make a post tagging several of the fandom tags drumming up interest. that's what I did when I started some things, and it worked pretty well. People follow tags on Tumblr, so those in the fandom should see it.

I don't know about for other sites besides Tumblr, though.

It's not fandom related, but tumblr seems like a good idea!

does that still work though? since tumblr actually took away the function to see how many updates a tag had and links to /search instead of /tagged sometimes...
