I knew that being drunk was when you drank a lot of alcohol, so the first time I ever heard an adult say that someone was stoned, I thought it meant that they'd had a lot of sex and that it made them "impaired" basically in the same way as being drunk. I had no idea what marijuana was, and the only "adult" thing I could think of other than alcohol that adults would act as secretive about (the "he's stoned" was whispered because there were kids around, and I just happened to hear it) was sex, so it made sense in my mind.

Also, I thought I'd grow up to be as big as my mom. I thought eventually, I'd be as tall as her and all my body parts would be the same, I didn't understand the concept of people having different builds. I'm all grown up now, I'm an inch and a half shorter than her, my boobs are much smaller than hers, my hands look like a kid's when held up next to hers and I'm just smaller in general.
