I'm okay with video games getting unlimited sequels, but not movies, comics, books, etc.

I'm okay with sequels for almost anything but I do feel like there comes a point where you have to lay a series to rest.

I feel like sequels are only needed for when you actually have more story to tell and not just to kick up something to squeeze money out of.

Of course, if you're resurrecting an ancient series for a reboot or distant sequel... sure, you could make arguments about originality but XCOM has been a delight whereas I just bounced off its '94 predecessor.

I will definitely tolerate video game sequels more easily than unnecessary film/whatever sequels, that's true. At least a lot of video games are still fun to play even if the plot is not quite great

I think I am kinda the opposite? I generally like sequels to everything regardless of medium, because once I am attached to the characters I want to see more of them and sequels let me do that, but I think video game sequels often don't quite work. The thing that bothers me about the game sequels is that the choices you made cannot have a great impact because all the players still need to get more or less the same game. This is especially bad, because many games make these choices seem so big and important, but if you look at the next game you realize they were basically meaningless. (I mean I realize that this only applies to rpgs and doesn't affect games that do not involve choices, but since these are the games I play, this is sort of where I am coming from.)
