You don't think feeling sexual attraction is an important factor in forming long-term romantic relationships that aren't nonsexual? Because I'm not asexual. I want sex and romance in my life, but I want it to be with somebody I'm sexually attracted to. Which literally CANNOT HAPPEN FOR ME until I've formed an emotional attachment.

Just go out and try forming new relationships like that and tell me how successful you are. Or how afraid you are of asshole men who didn't seem like assholes until they start accusing you of being a cocktease. Or tell me how nice it feels when you suddenly start to get tingly feelings for someone you've been friends with for a while and how heartbreaking it can be to watch them find the happiness you want with other people.

Do all that and tell me how being demi doesn't matter.

lol I don't know sounds like the same issues lots of women have who choose to wait until marriage or otherwise don't have sex by the third date - i.e. lots if not most women worldwide.

sorry you don't want to instantly bang people such struggle all of us non-demisexual people are always having instant sex and never feel uncomfortable doing it with people we don't take the time to know and develop feelings for

nayrt but what in the world? Male entitlement to sex over women who don't "give in" right away has nothing to do with demisexuality, because all women have the right to choose when or when not to have sex.

Demisexual people can get heartburn, same as everyone else. Doesn't make heartburn a demisexual issue, because the underlying causes have nothing to do with demisexuality.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but in the olden days, before the norm became it was mandatory to bang on your first date, that's pretty much how everyone rolled.

Some people even *gasp* waited until they were married.

Demisexual is a backlash to contemporary fating practice, but it isn't a sexuality.

The last time you were arrested for being demi?

The last time you were beaten for being demi?

The last time you were sent to a "conversion camp" for being demi?

THAT is why people get a little upset about the demisexuality label. It's not rare or potentially life-threatening. Historically, it was the norm. Unlike homosexuality et al.

because the definition of their sexuality, unlike every other major sexuality out there (hetero/homo/bi/etc) hinges on the amount of sex they're having and with whom. it's the disney princess sexuality.
