Except some people genuinely do feel that way. Maybe some gay people who are in denial would use it as an excuse, and that's unfortunate, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just because you don't understand or experience something doesn't mean that other people don't or can't.

...No, I'm pretty sure spreading the myth that it's always totally 100% just your sexuality, and never, ever a symptom of serious mental or physical illness is the thing that's going to harm people. Since it leads to people ignoring symptoms and delaying diagnosis of said serious illnesses and all.

I don't disagree that issues with your sex drive could be a symptom of a bigger problem, but I can't think of an illness where that's the ONLY symptom.
