I don't get it either. Going along with that, I don't get why someone's favorite thing has to be unique either. The very first movie to show something or the only one to tackle a theme. I've seen a lot of arguing over this (e.g. "Frozen was the first Disney movie to showcase sisterly love instead of romantic love") but I don't think the first matters that much if there's no second or third to follow it up. Those follow-ups matter too, so I don't see why it's such an insult to say that something is part of a small but growing group rather than all by itself on a pedestal.
