Well, I can understand pushing friends and loved ones to get into something you love, popular or no, because then it's something you can all share and totally bond over.

It is annoying to be pressured like that (and I've been on both sides), but it can be a sucky feeling when you're talking about some new thing that nobody seems to give a shit about, or worse, your friends hate like the burning.

I've been in that position, too. But rather than be That Annoying Friend Who Refuses To Shut the Fuck Up, I just keep my fangirling to myself and lurk on forums for the thing I like.

I grew up with religious proselytizing at home. I refuse to deal with it in my happy fun internet time.
