Guidance pls

It is me. Anon who blocked an over controlling 'friend' phone without telling them. Idk if they have even tried to contact me (I hope not but if they have I have no way of telling. Only blocked on phone so like they could FB or email...) but dilemma.

Mutual friend is expecting a baby. May be forced into digital or IRL contact. Baby showers etc. how can I go about this gracefully? I was thinking if any contact play it cool and graceful like we haven't spoken in nearly a year. The polite friendly but not close most of mutual friends and I have because we grew apart and that is ok.

I would say that if you're in a group, one thing you can do is "avoid" them by simply being busy with other people and things. Talk to people who are incidentally hanging out on the opposite side of the room.
When you do come into contact, polite friendly is probably the way to go. Keep the conversation light and not very personal, and not long.

That's not very nice for friend tho. I mean, it is an option because work will be very busy and I'd need to fly up but that's kind of last resort.
