I've been wanting to ask this question since the post went up. At first I thought they were talking like graphic novels, but then it started to sound like a choose your own adventure thing and then like a videogame, and WTF, videogames are not novels.

Fate/Stay Night has nearly double the word count of LotR and no gameplay besides choose your own adventure type choices... if I had to choose whether to describe it as a "novel" or a "game", I'd pick the former.
