I think there was a fair case for Katniss being asexual, because I agree, I was unconvinced that she was sexually interested in anyone throughout the story.

On the other hand, her being too busy trying to survive to be happy and "normal" is pretty key to her character. It's hard to know what Katniss would have been like if she had lived a safe, secure life and had a "normal" upbringing because her extreme circumstances have basically defined her characterization.

Well, that's what makes it a good headcanon, right? It's plausible and grounded in the source, and it's a legitimate reading. Doesn't mean it's the only reading, but it does work.

Really? What about the kiss on the beach, during the Quarter Quell? She refers back to that kiss in her mind, "that feeling I felt on the beach" or however it's phrased--it's pretty strongly implied she felt something physical toward Peeta at that moment.
