At least it's not teal and orange? Small mercies?

Came here to say this. And you can go ages without something exploding or the director shoving an actress' tits or ass at the screen. It is a whole different paradigm.

I'd prefer teal and orange tbh

(Anonymous) 2016-05-21 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't, simply because teal and orange is inescapably present in EVERY FUCKING ACTION MOVIE EVER, whereas the grey-green is only really a thing in the LOTR movies.

No kidding. I like it in Fury Road, but it's so amped up and bright there that I can't help it. Everything else... eeeeh... can I please see things in the colors they were meant to be?

Yeah. Honestly, a lot of movies just don't use it to good effect, I think. I mean, it's possible to do color well (I rather liked the sepia/green tones in Twin Peaks), but a lot of folks don't.

City of Ember did it pretty well, too. The basic dynamic of the movie is light versus shadow, so they used orange for electric lighting and blue for shadowy places.

I guess this goes to show how little I pay attention to these things but I could never have thought of a movie in teal and orange until Fury Road.
