A friend has a new boyfriend who's black and she keeps going on and on about how he's black. It makes me really uncomfortable but he seems happy enough with her (I don't know him well enough to ask him about it).

I wouldn't want to date someone who was continuously introducing my race into the topic of conversation for no particular reason. I'm guessing your friend is feeling a little self conscious about it and is over compensating to let everyone know she's not racist because voila, she's dating a black guy! Or that she's patting herself on the back for being so open minded.

Either way, kind of cringeworthy.
