That's kind of cool, OP!
I read about a village of Huguenots in WWII France that saved a ton of Jewish people from the Nazi. (It was in Malcom Gladwell's latest book.) I don't blame him for being proud of a heritage that produces such bravery and principle.

It's not his heritage. It's just what his ancestors were. Do you know what heritage is? Ethnic groups, race, various traits, diseases, etc. Religion is not part of heritage because you CAN'T inherent a religion. The only exception is Judaism because it's also an ethnic group. Do you know how idiotic some people sound when they say they're "half-muslim" or put down their race as "roman catholic?"

Heritage...doesn't just mean race?

Since when?

I know your race isn't your religion, but since when does "heritage" mean only race? Your heritage is stuff from your ancestors. You don't have to embrace it, or you might choose to. Race is yours no matter how you feel about it.

It's different. If it's been redefined nobody told me.
