I was a huge Remus/Tonks shipper in the Harry Potter fandom, so the last book really disappointed me.

Actually, the writing was so choppy I didn't even care that much when they got killed off until I absorbed it the next day. I was that sick of their drama in DH.

(I didn't actually mind it in the sixth book. I thought it made sense, which is an unpopular opinion...)

I was young enough (Only 14) that I adored all of the last book, and I wasn't quite at the point where character death in something I liked did more than make me go 'Oh, that guy I like is dead. How sad.' and then move on. I also read the book at top speed in less than 24 hours, though, which may have had an impact on how I related to the events that were happening. I've always been a fan of drama, personally, which was why book five was my favorite.

I feel you on this.

I thought it made sense in the sixth book as well but from what we saw of their issues(which wasn't a lot since Harry was the PoV character) it felt like it got sorted out in a way which they could resolve. Then in the last book their relationship got chopped around and generally felt really clunky to me. I was not happy with it. :/

AYRT - I honestly think she should've done what she did with Bill and Fleur. And even Fred and George in the platonic sense. We don't get a lot of personal scenes with Harry and those characters ether, yet those stories are very strong on their own, and although Fred's death was sad, I still thought their plotlines made sense and felt a sense of closure. Remus/Tonks was just a bulk of WTF.

Also, I'd hoped that Tonks would kick ass again. HBP, I actually predicted a meltdown from her beforehand (she just seemed almost too happy in OoTP, like she was overdoing it to stay positive), but figured in DH she'd be doing Auror stuff again. What was even the point of her being a Metamorphmagus?

... I care way too much about this after nine years.
