My teaching job over the summer isn't going to pan out. I was super excited, but uh, apparently before starting talks they didn't check if they could hire me as a grad student - which now they tell me they can't. Boo.
It wasn't even that much money, but every little bit helps, and it would have been good practice.
And now I'll need to figure out housing, which is the bigger issue.

wow that is the worst when people don't plan ahead and then let you down because they were irresponsible. :( :(

Yeah, it kind of sucks. Like, I was mostly hoping to get housing with them, but since I won't be working there, now I have to figure that out as well. Which is almost worse than not having the extra money. Ughhhh housing issues suckkkk

Goddamn man, that's some lame stuff.

I hope this is one of those "everything happens for a reason moments" and it just means that something better is about to come along.
