Who is she?

Can't remember the actress's name, but she played Anarkali in the Indian movie Mughal e Azam (an old movie, pre-modern-Bollywood). The character was a maid the prince fell in love with, so the king his father threw her in prison because the prince was supposed to marry some noblewoman.

(IIRC, I believe the whole movie is kind of like Amadeus - treating an urban legend about why a certain historical prince went insane, the legend goes that his girlfriend was exiled by his father because she was a politically inappropriate match for him and he went insane from grief.)

OP gave the name, why can't you Google if you want to know?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
That's actually the name of the movie

Rumor has it that Googling the name of a movie may also lead you to information that includes who the cast is, and specifically, who its main stars are.

Oh my goodness! I never thought I'd see a secret about Mughal-e-Azam on FS!

I think its a testament to her face that even thrown when in chains and all that, she still looked so luminous!

Not OP

Madhubala was a true beauty for sure. She always looks ethereal in pictures and on screen.
