The heart wants what the heart wants, I'm glad you said it. I want him to walk out into traffic without looking and get hit by an 18 wheeler. I want him to have to be removed from the tarmac by a jet hose. I know it isn't likely, but the heart wants what the heart wants. And thanks to Firefly fans, mine wants that.

This is one of my favorite things about Tolkien tbh, most descriptions are at the most "s/he was tall and beautiful and his/her hair looked like X and his/her eyes were this color" with only a few exceptions, and it makes the fanart for them sooooo much more creative and diverse and fun than that of most fandoms.

I can see how a person could have a specific image of a certain character though. My brain almost always supplies a mental image of a character whether they're described or not, and sometimes the mental image has features that are never mentioned in canon at all. For example, in Silm fandom, for some reason I always, without fail, picture Finrod as being incredibly freckled. Why? Not the faintest idea, but that's how my brain works.

I don't think anyone who's brain works like that will object to art or descriptions that conflict with their mental image tbh. Don't worry about it.

I think the thing that frustrates me is that that picture is from a funeral. A place where people get together to comfort each other and tell stories about the person who died. If you are laughing at a funeral, then that's a good thing. Also, George W. Bush was a terrible president. That doesn't mean he wasn't also a human being who was capable of interpersonal relationships.

I love Draenei in general(I think half my alliance toons are Draenei?), both their looks and culture aesthetic are really nice and say what you will about WoD the Draenei buildings they gave us this expansion are beautiful, easily miles better than the BC stuff.

Though those still hold a special place in my heart because it was the first zone I ran around in on a friends account and it got me into the game. :3

I always thought Momoa was a bit of an odd choice. If anything, he's Namor the Submariner.

Aquaman needs to be blond and strapping and a tad less hairy.

IDK man I also want to relax at the end of a long day. But I don't mind that other people approach fandom differently, and I don't think it has any intrinsic validity to it. Some people just feel differently and more intensely about stuff than I do, and that's okay, and I can deal with it. Really not sure how to take your attitude of superiority here.
