I voted for Sanders too, and people like this are driving me crazy. All you are going to do is give the election to Trump. Come on. I don't like Hillary very much, but she's better than Trump. Anything is better than Trump.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. Exactly.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Sure.

I'm not saying people should be assholes, but she is in the pocket of big money and anyone who's not supporting her is "giving the election to Trump?"

That's bullshit, son, and you know it.

Who's "giving the election to Trump?" The fucking media that can't stop talking about him and gives him coverage 24/7. And if you think they don't know what they're doing, bullshit.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Sierra Blanca. Sanders dumps toxic waste on a poor Hispanic community because they're too poor to fight back, but at least he's not "in the pocket of big money," right?

Hillary has become a multimillionaire for making speeches to banking concerns. She takes bribes. The number of political favours granted to truly repellent governments after they made donations to the Clinton Foundation is appalling.

The only place she deserves to go is jail.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright, name some. What political favors were granted to truly repellent governments after they made donations to the Clinton Foundation?

Your spelling of "favours" marks you as a non-American, btw. Not an issue most of the time, but in a discussion about American politics your opinion will carry a lot more weight if people know you're actually effected by American politics. I mean, it's easy to be dismissive of the importance of rights that only apply to other people.

Uh, dude, if you think that as a Canadian, that American politics doesn't affect us (and a lot of the rest of the world) then you've got your head up your ass.

It affects you in a different way, especially as Sanders hasn't promised anything with regards to foreign politics, all his promises are internal.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Sure it affects us in a different way. So what? It does affect us, often in a MAJOR way, and yet we don't get a vote. (Granted, I don't envy you your choices at the moment.)

Giving speeches for money isn't illegal or unethical.

Hillary doesn't take bribes. And how the fuck would the Clinton Foundation be able to provide political favors?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ssssh, don't confuse the haters with truth.

Of course she doesn't take bribes. This donation by Saudi Arabia and Hillary's decision to give them what they wanted just happened to accidentally coincide.

Don't be purposely obtuse. Hillary made a lot of money on the pretense that she was going to be President in the future. Bill has literally been influence peddling on her putative future Presidency for fifteen years.

So how come she doesn't want us to see what was in those speeches?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Because it's irrelevant. Because it absolutely does not matter, and once she released them they'd start hounding her something else.

Either that, or it's the reason Bernie won't release his full tax returns.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:28 am (UTC)(link)
The "toxic waste" you refer to was scrap metal and used gloves.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
That had come into contact with toxic materials. It is still toxic, and it is still classified as toxic waste, and he still responded to it with, essentially, "why should I listen to you, I don't need your vote."

He took advantage of a poor community and didn't care.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! In Australia, we're having an election in a few months and the media is still mainly reporting about bloody Donald Trump! It's to the point that people are saying 'Oh that's right there's an election in our OWN COUNTRY soon?'

I kind of understand why. Donald Trump is talking about building walls, which is so friggen insane it's kinda hilarious. In Australia, we're talking about taxes. People tend to zone out and say 'Negative gearing wha-? Hey, what's that crazy Donald Trump doing now?'

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The Democrats play the 'B-B-B-BUT HITLER WILL WIN' game every fucking election. It's tiresome, and it demonstrates that they don't have any real ideas.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, they're not wrong: the Republican candidate is invariably terrible. I still haven't decided, though, whether I'm more annoyed 1) at an electorate that ~50% supports these terrible candidates, so that they keep being a driving force in national politics, or 2) at the Democratic party for accepting "not terrible" as their own endgame rather than as an inadequately bare minimum standard.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It's legitimate this time.

And the fact that people can't see that makes me weep for the future of this country. Hopefully, China will be good to us after WWIII

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I'm sick of it. It's tired. Last night someone was telling me he'd overturn Roe and Obergefell, and I realized how much it's the same ridiculous line as we've gotten since the 1990s. I also hear Republicans claiming that Hillary will insitute socialist programs she has specifically disavowed.

Trump is a nincompoop, but he may actually be better than if Ted Cruz or one of the Pauls got in.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Better for who? Because I am SOL if he gets into office. I'll lose the medical insurance that's the only thing that keeping me from devolving from a mildly disabled person into someone who will probably lose at least one leg in the near future, and both if I'm really lucking.

And the fact that whoever gets elected will get to appoint between two and three Justices is a huge fucking deal. It makes the overturning of RvW very real, in addition to obliterating much of the recent progress made by Supreme Court rulings.

If you're a middle class white straight man, you'll probably be fine under Trump, although hopefully horrified by how quickly the USA's relationship with other countries fall apart. If you're not, you're looking at an 100% guaranteed decrease in the quality of your life and your freedoms.

you, my friend, are an idiot

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD. You do realize how many Supreme seats will be up for grabs, don't you? And how the Senate basically threw a temper tantrum and refused to consider the President's legally nominated justice, counting on getting a republican in office based on just your kind of 'who cares' apathy? Your vote won't count for shit for the next 30 years if you don't step up once they have the supreme court locked down.

So go ahead and wave your hands like it doesn't matter. It does. There's a DIFFERENCE. We need the supremes a democrat would nominate. And that a newly appointed Senate in 2 years wouldn't be able to weasel out of approving.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You do realize that AYRT compared Trump not to a democrat but to the other Republican nominees, right? Ted Cruz should have scared you just as much, if not more than, Trump
