I think the thing that frustrates me is that that picture is from a funeral. A place where people get together to comfort each other and tell stories about the person who died. If you are laughing at a funeral, then that's a good thing. Also, George W. Bush was a terrible president. That doesn't mean he wasn't also a human being who was capable of interpersonal relationships.

I know right? Funerals are a time to put away rivalries and celebrate the life of the person who died.

And George W. Bush was pretty terrible but he also seems like he would have been really fun to have a beer with.

Seriously. Jesus Christ, dude. I think W. was a terrible president (the worst evvuhhhh? Nah, WW) but come on! It's a FUNERAL. What the fuck is wrong with you, you're judging how people act at a funeral? People should put aside politics at a funeral.

I voted for Sanders too, and people like this are driving me crazy. All you are going to do is give the election to Trump. Come on. I don't like Hillary very much, but she's better than Trump. Anything is better than Trump.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. Exactly.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-26 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Sure.

I'm not saying people should be assholes, but she is in the pocket of big money and anyone who's not supporting her is "giving the election to Trump?"

That's bullshit, son, and you know it.

Who's "giving the election to Trump?" The fucking media that can't stop talking about him and gives him coverage 24/7. And if you think they don't know what they're doing, bullshit.

Wil Wheaton made a big deal about how much he's (Wheaton) has changed since being a douchebag kid, but I have to disagree. He's just a douchebag in a different way now.

Well, it's not about W.

The Bushes are a political disaster (yes, arguably even Poppy) but actually nice people.

I'm guessing the Clintons crave approval, and respond to being treated politely with this sort of desperate desire to be frieennds. So the Bushes are pretty kind to the Clintons because that's how they are. The Clintons lap that up.

The problem is that Hillary, in her desire to be an elite WASP VIP, is cuddling up to powerful WASPs who are political disasters while continuing to be a political disaster herself. This image just shows how much Hillary ended up being part of the Reagan-Bush club, a club that a lot of Americans have good reason to hate.

Okay can I just say that while Bush was a bad president, he was absolutely fucking not the worst president in American history, and anyone who thinks he was clearly doesn't know history? I mean, we have Jackson, Polk, Taylor, Grant, Hoover... Two of those are partially responsible for the destruction of the native peoples of the continent (to the point where there are casinos that will not deal in 50 dollar bills), and two are partially responsible for the advent of the Civil War.

Like, fuck, Wheaton, go read a book.

People who work in the same field interacting??? What is this? PPeople acting like humans??? Not throwing monkeyshit at each other??? At a time requiring respect??? HOW?

Don't they know things would get done so much easier if we just yelled at each other all the time?

... I guess Nixon was small potatoes according to some presidential historians here, but I wonder why he hasn't been mentioned yet.

No comment on the secret itself, but whenever I see someone decrying Bush the second as "THE WORST PRESIDENT IN US HISTORY OMGGG" it makes me assume that they are colossally historically ignorant. Was he a great president? nope. Did he do sucky things? most definitely. But to declare that no other president has ever been that bad is also to declare yourself ignorant of all the other presidents we have had who did incredibly sucky things that people apparently choose not to remember (or just never learned about, which says something about the state of education in our country.)

Wheaton is an utter asshole who hates his fans, hates sci fi in general, hates video gamers, hates when people want accountability in journalism (it's somehow sexist? What?), declares he knows what's best for women better than women do and somehow calls himself a feminist, drinks from a "male tears" mug, and blocks anyone who calls him on his bullshit.

He literally plays himself on Big Bang Theory--assholish, manipulative, shitting on his fans--and has no sense of insight about it.

Reading this thread has made me want to vote Trump soooo bad, just to troll the country. I won't, but I want to.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
My take on recent presidential folks:
George W - Honestly believed in Good vs Evil, got way, way in over his head.
Bill - "Great opportunity for some good times and tail!"
Barack - "Whoa that actually worked, now what?" and "Best golf games of my life, sweet!"
Trump - Narcissist who really thinks he's better than any other human being. Savior complex.
Hillary - "I'll show them." Wants to get back at everyone who's ever slighted her, including Bill.
Bernie - True believer but lives in another reality.
