Well, I personally am sure that I'm way more likely to be disgruntled and hard to please about fandom stuff when there is also hectic important stuff going on in my life. But that's why I choose my days when it's time to back away for a while.

Same here. My grandmother recently passed away and her will named me the executor of her estate, which has been an ungodly amount of stress and hard work and petty annoyances on top of, you know, my grandmother dying which I'm pretty cut up about. And I find myself having seriously over-the-top reactions lately to stuff in fandom that I'd ordinarily find annoying but that now feels like the worst thing ever.

I'm sorry for your loss, anon.

It sucks because fandom is just an escape for so many people but not always, it's like a temptation to get into these strong feelings because even when they're negative I at least know how to deal with silly fandom negativity, but...sitting back with a movie or something is better when I'm having a tough time.

One of the over-the-top reactions I've had actually was to a movie; I watched Captain America: Civil War and felt devastated for a couple of days just because I liked it but didn't love it. So I've started reading romance novels to unwind instead. That's been working much better. :-)
