Hating Whedon and Firefly, whatever, but "hating fans" - are you that much better than ayrt? You hate people who like a series you don't?

There's a difference between kinda hating Firefly and Whedon fans and wishing DEATH on the lead actor of their favorite series just to spite them. I'm sorry you don't see it, but that reflects more on you than it does me.

Seems like the same brand of anti-fan insanity to me, just in different quantities. Seriously something is wrong with you and you need a break from the internet if someone being a fan of something makes you hate them.

That was some pretty mediocre concern trolling. Maybe try being a little less blatantly obvious about your Whedon/Firefly fandom?

Calling out your hypocrisy =/= trolling, and you trying to dismiss it as such doesn't make what you said any less stupid, especially considering the comment you were replying to.

Gotta agree with AYRT on this one. I agree with probably 98% of the comments I see you make, but with this you're coming off like a bit of a jerk. A minor jerk in comparison to the OP, but a jerk all the same.

Who the heck hates people merely for being fans of something they don't like? I don't even hate Fifty Shades fans, and that's saying something, because man that shit is awful in so many ways.

See, I never bothered to actually explain WHY I dislike Firefly fans, mostly because this thread does a pretty good job of it for me. The show is dead, good riddance, it's time to move on and let the healing begin. I've never met a Firefly fan who wasn't obnoxious and desperate. So fuck 'em.

Anyone who's still a Whedon fan in 2016 though has earned my contempt. Yes, do keep telling me how great and feminist he is while he treats women like shit, both in his writing and in person.

Hey, one of my best friends is a Firefly fan. It's not her all-consuming passion but she does like the show quite a lot.

I do think it's important to make the distinction between casual and rabid fans. Also the people I see on this thread being obnoxious aren't really talking about Firefly, they're just being obnoxious in general.

Well okay then, I've earned the contempt of an internet stranger who clearly has all authority on such things. I should probably go and reassess what I consider to be good media based on this stranger telling me that I shouldn't be liking Joss Whedon in 2016.

dude if you can't tell the difference between saying you hate fans (which usually means "I find obnoxious fans of these things incredibly annoying") and saying you want the lead actor of a thing to die in a horrible accident while going into graphic detail...yikes.

They're both immature, nonsensical, and frankly, disgusting character traits. If you can't live and let fandom, you need to get off the internet asap and see a therapist.

And for the record, he never said "I hate obnoxious fans", he just said "I hate fans" - a statement that automatically makes you far more insufferable than the group you hate on.

You're doing a fantastic job teaching me not to hate Firefly fans.

Even if he really did passionately hate Firefly fans (which I doubt - hyperbole is a thing?) how is that in any way comparable to describing the death you wish on one person in graphic detail?

Also, you are doing the worst job of "live and let live" that I've seen in this thread, except for creepy traffic death anon, who may also be you, not sure.
