I work in retail. I see people who have all kinds of luxuries (expensive cars, designer clothes, manicures, etc.) and yet they pay for their food with an EBT card. If they can afford to blow money on manicures and designer bags, why can't they pay for their food with their own money?
I know, logically, they more than likely have a job too, but then why use other people's money to pay for your necessities? It makes me feel like I'm supporting the friend who is fully capable of getting and holding down a job, but would rather mooch off of you instead because I, just by working, contribute to the public aid fund that they're using.
I know I probably shouldn't care as much as I do, and complaining about it on the Internet is going to do absolutely nothing, but hopefully that explains where I'm coming from.
