I was amazed at how well they were able to make both character sympathetic.

But there is no way you can make me believe that Tony was right to bring an underage teen to a fight against trained adults. That was the absolute dumbest thing he could have done.

Ultimately I agree with Steve. As a citizen of that world, I'd probably agree with Tony. As someone who had watched the movies, Steve is right in thinking the safest hands are their own. Every government organization they have trusted, turned out to be bad.

Steve recruits Bucky who was a teen in 616. I mean I understand why people don't like Tony, but that reason is hypocritical.

We are talking about the MCU. They are two completely different canons.

Well, yes, but this is about MCU, not 616. I think it's kinda ridiculous to use comics characterization when the discussion is about the movies. I mean, I'm an actual comics fan, but damned if I can remember half the important plot lines for any of the characters I really like.

I agree it was stupid, but Stark was pretty clear to Parker that he should stay out of the fighting and just control the field with his webbing - which was extremely useful all on its own. And I think his guilt when the kid got hurt anyway was part of his mess at the end.

It was nice of him to tell Peter to stay out of fighting. Would have been nicer had he not brought a teenager in the first place.

da

Yep, a teenager that he took across international borders without his guardain's knowledge or consent, no less.

Especially when he was motivated to sign the accords by the tragic death of another teenager getting caught in another fight he was involved in.

I got the impression that Tony thought Steve would surrender without much of a fight and Spidey was just there in case. He didn't expect it to go as insane as it did. Also, he told spidey exactly what he had to do, that was to not get too directly involved and sling from afar. I'll also add that even though spidey is young, he's one of the more powerful characters in this.

That argument doesn't hold up. Why recruit extra muscle if you aren't expecting a fight? There was no reason for Spider-Man to be there in the first place if Tony wasn't really expecting a fight. You can't have it both ways.

"But there is no way you can make me believe that Tony was right to bring an underage teen to a fight against trained adults. That was the absolute dumbest thing he could have done."

1.) The only reason that Spiderman was even included was clearly just to introduce his character and set up the upcoming Spiderman films.

2.) Tony gave Peter specific orders. To keep out of the way of the fighting and just web them up to incapacitate them. He didn't want Peter anywhere near the real action and the SECOND that Peter got hurt, he immediately told him that he was done.

3.) As opposed to Steve who, knowing literally nothing about Peter or his abilities, immediately drops a truck onto him which luckily the kid was strong and quick enough to catch. Otherwise Steve would have crushed a teenager to death.

4.) And considering that Wanda is also a teenager, the argument "how dare these adults allow children to fight alongside them" better be applied to Steve as well.

1) That doesn't matter. The story is what matters.

2) He still brought an underage person to a battle.

3) Why the FUCK would Steve suspect Tony (who was boohooing about killing a teen earlier) would bring ANOTHER teen to a battle. I guess Steve expected too much of Tony.

4) What makes you think she is a teen? According to the wiki she is an adult at the beginning of Age of Ultron.

Dude, no way is Scarlet Witch a teen in this movie. They wouldn't be hinting at a Vision romance if she were, the age gap between the actors is iffy enough as it is without the character being actually underage.
