A podcast I listened to described it as Tony going to Steve like, "I created a murder robot and almost destroyed the world. We all need to be held responsible for this thing I did by myself, even though everyone told me it was a bad idea."

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously. A lot of Tony's actions in Civil War is him projecting like crazy.
I mean we get it dude, you feel guilty as hell, but there's no need to drag everyone else under for your dumbass mistakes lol.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the way he threw the entire team under the bus for his and Bruce's fuck-up, including the people on it who didn't screw up, really bothered me.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
How is coming to the realization that a super-powered vigilante group should be regulated throwing the team "under the bus" though? This isn't the 116 SHR, it's the UN asking them to respect the sovereignty of other nations.

Why are Cap fans acting like the reasonably understandable wishes of UN member states is just crazy?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
There was much more the the Accords than that, and Steve was worried about what else they were agreeing to.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-27 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Tony has an awful track record of blaming everyone else for the shit he does, while at the same time expecting them to clean up the mess for him.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
So Steve and pals invaded a foreign nation (Sokovia) as a military force without any government sanction and that was, like, Tony's fault?

Pull the other one.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Because Tony's pet project was committing genocide in Sokovia. Try again, stan.

I guess they should have let Tony's MURDER ROBOT kill everyone? They were cleaning up Tony's MURDER ROBOT mess.

Or maybe they should have waited until the UN got together for a meeting to see if they would allow the Avengers into Sokovia to kill Tony's MURDER ROBOT.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-28 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. They were, once again, cleaning up a mess that Tony made.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
So... they were supposed to just let Ultron destroy all life on Earth more advanced than microbes? Because that's what would have happened if they'd waited for the UN to have a meeting.

And Tony was the one who created that murderbot in the first place. So yeah, it was Tony's fault.

[personal profile] lady_dragoon 2016-05-28 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
To stop Tony's murderbot from killing everyone in Sokovia. There was no time to waste waiting for government permission to stop an omnicidal AI.

Which was Tony's creation. So yes, it was his fault.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

Way to ignore all the entirely valid arguments against the completely delusional comment you're agreeing with.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe they're valid to delusional stans who read fanfic instead of watching the source.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Bruce. Get your facts straight Bruce participated in creating Ultron.

It's more like:
I /and Bruce/ /accidently/ created a murder robot and /the robot/ almost destroyed the world.

Scarlet Witch had a part in this too.

I guess you hate the character too much to be rational on this. It's alright as it's only a character.

Bruce: I thought Ultron was a fantasy. That is a big if [creating ultron]. You are going for artificial intelligence and don't want to tell the team. Sounds like a cold world Tony.

Also, Scarlet Witch had literally NO hand in Ultron. Have you SEEN the movie? Scarlet Witch sort of helped create Vision. So yeah, good work buddy.

ETA: Tony CREATED Ultron by himself and introduced him to Bruce mostly fully formed.

I'm seriously confused at what movie Tony-stan troll was watching.

I am too drunk for this. I think I typed all that stuff right. had to open my copy of the movie.

ETA: I actually like Tony for the most part. But he did some really stupid stuff in CA:CW.

I agree that trying to pin some of the blame on Scarlet Witch is wrong--mostly it comes across as trying to defend Tony rather than try to represent the situation rationally.

But she DID give him one of those nightmare vision things that she specifically says she did so he would 'self-destruct'. She just didn't account on how many people he could take out with him.

Now, Tony was the one who had the idea of Ultron, who had the capability of building Ultron, who didn't tell his teammates about these plans, etc, but Scarlet Witch is not totally blameless.

But Bruce isn't innocent either. Yeah, he wasn't all gung-ho for it immediately, but he still helped.

People have bad dreams all the time. That doesnt mean you just create MURDERBOTS. But I am too drunk to reply beautifully. Autocorrect is the only thing keeping me afloat.

/accidently/ created. With Bruce. After he saw the vision Scarlet Witch gave him. Or do you think that Tony created Ultron and made him kill JARVIS, and it was all a part of his elaborate plan?

Again, it's ok if you want to ignore the evidence as it's just a movie, but the way you spread misinformation as if it's the truth grates on my nerves enough for me to speak up.

Did you miss the part in Civil War where the Avengers went to Nigeria and their oopsie got a bunch of innocent Wakandan's killed (yay, more action set pieces with disposable black corpses in the MCU!)?

Yeah the accords were named after the incident in Sakovia but its not like the non-Tony Avengers are above needing regulation.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! I'm honestly baffled by some of the arguments here.
Firstly, can we stop with the ad hominen attacks? Just because someone is defending Tony does not necessarily make them a 'Tony Stan'.

OK, so people are saying Tony is to blame for what happened with Ultron. I agree with that. This is what's confusing me. THIS IS WHAT'S DRIVING HIM TO SIGN THE ACCORDS TO BEGIN WITH. So why is this making him a 'terrible person'? People are saying Tony should be blamed for everything because apparently everything is his fault. Yes, I agree, he stuff up a lot. Again, it's his guilt that makes him want to sign to begin with. So how is this a bad thing?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Because Ultron was HIS AND BANNER'S MISTAKE AND NOBODY ELSE'S, you insufferable shithead. By signing the Accords, he effectively threw the blame onto EVERYONE for something HE DID. That's what makes him a terrible fucking person.

I swear, this isn't hard if you'd get your mouth off RDJ's dick for a minute.
