Personally, my rage would be directed at the people who made him do it. And I certainly wouldn't get mad at his friend for not letting me kill him.

You have an amazing ability to see clarity in the throes of emotion.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yup.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not a Tony stan or anything, but I can see why Tony was so pissed off. After feeling the entire movie that Steve was betraying him, Steve protecting Bucky was probably the last straw. Tony also doesn't know Bucky personally at all, so getting angry at him is eaiser because he doesn't know what he's really like.
I'm not saying he's in the right per say, but his actions arent that unresonable.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I can sympathize with his pain and still think he was morally in the wrong, especially after Steve tried to get through to him and Tony's answer being "I don't care."

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's morally wrong, but it's also understandable--the end of that sentence was "he killed my mom".

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I kinda doubt it but lol ok.
I think you're really really underestimating what death and murder does to people and their emotions.
But whatever helps you sleep at night.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
some people are just kinda... controlled. I am perfectly willing to believe that philstar22 is the type to have rage-driven hyperfocus.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe eventually? But if you can think like that five seconds after watching actual video footage of your parents being murdered with the guy who murdered them standing right next to you, also knowing that someone you considered your friend had known about it the whole time, with the context that you've basically been having a prolonged breakdown for a couple of years, well... I think you must be Jesus.

I'd probably react in the moment, but then I'd stop and think. But Tony kept going. He kept going long past what could be considered just a momentary emotional reaction.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Except it wasn't actually very long? It wasn't like an hour long fight. I think people are allowed more than like ten minutes of freaking out. The end of the movie clearly shows that when given the time to process it, he doesn't go after Bucky. FFS cut the guy some slack for having an admittedly regretful but understandably emotional reaction to WATCHING HIS PARENTS GET MURDERED.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
No. I will not cut that asshole any slack for being a spoiled piece of shit who takes his problems out on everyone else and that's literally his entire goddamn character.

~so edgy~, there edgelord.

And this is why I'm Team Iron Man.

And this is why I'm Team Iron Man.

Word.

I'm not going to argue that there aren't a couple of comments in this thread that seem to be a little bit too intent on defending Tony. But it's nothing compared to the excessive condemnation the anti-Tony crowd is dishing out.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
lol yes because calling out the horrible shit he did, of which there is a metrick fuckton, is "excessive condemnation." lol you stans are fucking adorable.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Anon may be referring to the way these faults are being brought up (with the name calling, swearing, and Tony stan accusations). I doled out a lot of trash talk against Tony earlier and, reading back on it hours later, I feel badly for his fans. Yes, a lot of them soured my experience in the MCU fandom back when it was just beginning, but I know from experience that it sucks to see your favorite character get bashed to hell and back.

If any fans of Tony are reading this: I'm sorry :(

I don't. I consider it their just desserts.

DA

That really isn't all there is to his character though? Dislike him all you want, but acting like it's objective fact is obnoxious.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
It IS objective fact. That's all he fucking is.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
You seem stressed. Maybe try yoga?

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
You seem like a dipshit. Try brains?

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
It's not all he is, but it is a big part of his character, and it's a dealbreaker for a lot of people.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Haven't anyone lost their temper in the past? I have and I can tell you it went on for a very long time. It's scary as fuck and I've controlled it now (ok for me it took the form of a lot of yelling) but still, once the temper is lost, that's it.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
If you attack someone with a weapon when you lose your temper, it's still assault with a deadly weapon. If you try to kill someone when you lose your temper, it's still attempted murder, and it's still a crime.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-28 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
If you corner someone trying to run away and pummel them with weapons, then you're psychotic. This "oh, we all get angry sometimes, Tony did nothing wrong!" reasoning is alarming. Are you really this deluded?
