Re: Actors you can no longer support.

okay having read the whole thing it sounds more like a drunk guy humping her while she zones out and lets it happen, not so much that she is forcing herself on him. Not that that makes it consensual, but I just feel like a lot of comments about her paint her as a super aggressive rapist when the whole thing paints her as rather passive... idk, the whole speech is weird to me

You didn't answer my question nonny.

Would you, sober, keep having sex with someone who was so drunk they were having trouble seeing and were going in and out of consciousness?

Because that's what she did. Being passive doesn't change that. Is it okay for a guy to just lay back while a girl passes in and out of consciousness while trying to ride his dick? You think he has no responsibility to put a stop to it or end the sex acts from someone who's clearly too inebriated to consent?

Do you? Because if you don't, why would it be any different for Amy Schumer?

I was a different anon btw, sorry for the confusion. So that is why I didn't answer your question, it wasn't directed at me, it was just the first time I read that link. But I guess to answer it anyway: idk the main thing I would think would be that at 19, situations where drunk people (regardless of gender) initiate a sexual act can be confusing, especially if you are very inexperienced in sex, relationships, and issues of consent, and freezing in confusion can happen, and while it doesn't make the party lose their responsibility, it does explain a bad response.

So yes I think it is a person's responsibility to stop them, but I can understand being confused when suddenly faced with that responsibility.

Thinking about it more, I do wish Amy Schumer came to a similar conclusion, and the fact that she hasn't seem to does make her seem shittier. Basically if this speech had any mention of her wishing she had responded better for his sake and not just for her own self esteem, it would be way more redeemable in my eyes.

(sorry that is prob tl;dr)

Look up male hyperagency.

I'm so glad you're able to apply your 2016 wisdom and supreme judgment to an incident that happened in 1999, where smartphones didn't exist and awareness didn't trend like clockwork and public shame took time to spread like wildfire.

Maybe you could call up Ms. Schumer to tell her what a sick little individual she is, based on a single incident she had as an insecure eighteen-year-old, one she acknowledges was completely fucked up, and one she hasn't repeated since? Would that make you feel better about yourself?

The incident may have occurred some time ago when people weren't as sensitive to the topic, but she chose to relay this story in a speech not too long ago so she clearly didn't think she was wrong. (She never acknowledged that what she did was fucked up.)

And I'd like to see you defend a guy raping a drunk chick with the same logic of "Aw but it was only once and he hasn't done it since".

I'm debating whether to give you a 6/10 for really pushing this stupidity, or a -200/10 for being so fucking awful.

I dunno, genders reversed I'd call adam schumer a rapist for doing the exact same thing, but I know I have a bit of a double standard about this.
