I feel you. I majored in physics (though I transferred to a different subject later), was part of a roleplaying group of physicists and even now some of my best friends are nerdy physicists and... most of them like the show (or at least used to like it until it got a bit repetitive and boring). Wanna know why? because a lot of the jokes were really relateable. It's just awesome when you see someone freezing a banana to make icecream and you recall last summer when you did that with chocolate cream, or when you insta-froze that huge nasty spider. or when you see those guys talking to non-nerdy/non-science people and see your own communication problems.
And the whole "nerdy guys can't get women" stuff is just the nerd version of any comedy show out there where you can just substitute "nerdy" with anything else.
Tbh. I get the feeling that most of the people who hate the show are people from the arts department who like to pretend they know what it's like because they're "geeky too" but that's kinda like a chinese person pissing on will smith in the fresh prince because he's a "racist stereotype and I know what racism is". Kinda... you know... I get that you're upset but maybe this is just not the right place for it.
