I didn't hate this movie but it was sadly wasted potential, should have been just two movies and then the pacing may have been better. Also no Legolas or not not any longer than a very small cameo, much as I love him in LoTR, because he really got too much screentime for no particularly good reason.

I wouldn't have MINDED Legolas, but I hated what they did to his character, and I hated Tauriel and the weird love triangle thing going on there.

I didn't mind him being there wile they were in Mirkwood, that made sense, but he was still there after they left and like what? Why? We have the dwarves, I want this to be about the dwarves ffs. I actually liked Tauriel but I hated how she got shoved into a random love triangle that improved nothing about the movies.

Legolas was super popular in LOTR, right? Possibly because of all the teenagers and their crush on Orlando Bloom. So that might be why they made him more popular in the Hobbit movies (not that I think it was a good decision).

That is probably why tbh, I know teenage me was in love with him, but I still wish they'd kept his part small.
