The people who don't ship the incest ships say that anyone who does ship them supports actual incest in real life and also are pedophiles.

Yeah, I do not get when people started thinking that if you write about something in fiction, that means you must evidently support it or endorse it in the real world, but that line of thought is just beyond absurd.

And the term "pedophile"...a lot of people really need to be reeducated on what that term actually means. If a person ships an adult character and a 16 year old character, it may well be squicky...but it is not pedophilia, because the 16 year old is not a pre-pubescent child.

Same goes with people who call a ship incestuous when the characters AREN'T actually related. Somebody may see a brother/sister sort of bond between two co-workers on a show, for instance, but if they're not related, then no, by definition, it is not incestuous if they date, or if somebody ships them.

Yeah, shipping a 38 year old guy with his 34 year old brother is TOTES pedophilia.
