As far as comic films making excellent use of music goes, I thought that Watchmen set the bar particularly high.

Eh, they did all right. Points for using Dylan's "The Times They Are a-Changin'" in a relevant montage. But frankly, Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" is not a terribly original choice (even Cohen requested a moratorium on its use in films!) and setting it as the backdrop of a painfully bad sex scene between Nite Owl and Silk Spectre II kind of spoiled it.
