FMA: I don't think Roy should be Fuhrer. Honestly, I didn't like his group as much as I thought I would based on fandom. This goes especially for Riza. She didn't live up to the hype for me. I love Winry though.


Harry Potter: I don't like Molly Weasley for how she treated Hermione or Fleur and her sister. I don't find the Weasley family to be ideal that fandom portrays.

I don't know if it's controversial, but I didn't care about any of the deaths.

DC: I don't care about Batman and I definitely don't buy the idea that he could defeat anyone by preparing for it.

She was over the top with him, but I think it was just a protective mechanism/fear of
a) Sirius not being able to take proper care of Harry
b) her fear of losing Harry to Sirius.

I think she had her own problems/way of dealing with things, but i don't like that she mafe Sirius feel even more incompetent/helpless than he already felt. That said, Sirius needed help too. I think Rowling mentioned him being in a state of arrested development. Staying stuck in that house didn't help.

I like to make the 'because he's Batman' joke in regards to him beating anyone but realistically it does make me roll my eyes when he can literally defeat anyone. I like him but I have my limits.

I love Riza but I agree that fandom makes her out to be much more perfect than she is, her and Roy's relationship comes off as more fucked up than romantic for me.

I love Winry too and wish there were more fic focused on her.

Agreed. I've read the books as an adult, not while growing up, and Dumbledore and the Weasley parents were my top creepy and unlikeable characters right from the start. Which is, of course, as close to blasphemy as you can get in HP fandom.

I think Molly was portrayed as flawed, not a terrible person.

I was angry at her for her treatment of Hermione, which I think was the point, but other times I liked her.

and anyone who says the Weasleys were "ideal" need a reality check - no family is perfect. I do think they were portrayed as ideal from Harry's point of view, because they do love each other and Harry never had a family like that.
