I agree so much. If they want representation, they should create the characters they want to see. Or they should support works with those characters rather than forcing headcanons on existing characters.

In fairness, if we're talking about, you know, mainstream media, the barriers to entry are fairly high, and the existing representation is not a lot.

I'm not denying there are opportunities to do those things. I'm just saying that those things are not panaceas.
