"How many comments will it take to start saying shit about Tony?" I thought while reading this secret.

The answer is 4.

You're pathetic.

Well, I'm sorry it took so long! Some of us anti-Tony folks have stuff to do and don't get online early enough for it to be #1!

(DA, and actually I wasn't thinking about Tony. But why think about Tony if you don't have to?)

Um, I don't really have a problem with Tony, but Howard, in Captain America: The First Avenger was absolutely supposed to call Tony to mind. Also, selfish, arrogant, and cool are character traits that they both possess (not at all times and not in the same quantities) and I'm not sure why it's pathetic to point it out. Those are not the only qualities either possess, but they are the ones mentioned in the secret. Actually, Steve, himself, can be arrogant and has his selfish moments.

I agree with everything except Steve being arrogant.

I think he can be a little bit.
I mean one of the main reasons why Steve didn't sign the accords was, "I know what's better for Bucky than anybody else!"
Even after Bucky was offered mental health help, Steve still refused it because he seemed to believe that he was the only one who could help him. I don't think Steve is a bad person or anything but he defianlty has some arrogant traits.

DA

I think you really misinterpreted his refusal to sign after Tony offered to get Bucky transferred to a psych facility. That one almost did it for him but then he found out about Wanda's interment, which reaffirmed his doubts about the accords, and then he couldn't bring himself to sign even if it meant an easier time getting Bucky out.

I guess you could call someone standing by his principles arrogant if you want to. Steve's principles are certainly pretty lofty, but I've never thought it was about being better than other people for him. That's just not the place it's coming from.

It's not his usual MO, I know, he's mostly pretty humble, but the way he goes off, disobeying orders in The First Avenger, could be considered arrogant. I mean, he's right, he was able to rescue all those men, but still, it could have easily turned out badly. And there's the fact that he was lying to get into the army at all, as if fighting was the only way to contribute to the war effort, though a lot of it could be attributed to his stubbornness. Then there's his first scene with Tony in The Avengers - Tony is worse, but Steve was not great either. There are a couple of other moments, but really, the people around him are much worse so his small moments don't really stand out. And like I said, it's not usual, he's more confident in his abilities than arrogant, but he does have a few moments.
