Re: Writing question - does this happen to anyone else?

It varies a lot for me. Often I'll write with placeholder names until I figure out something that feels right, other times I end up switching names between characters. Then I'll have some moments like I've recently had happen where a name just pops up and it feels perfect from the get-go (In my most recent case a girl named Éloïse, who is very adamant that you have to write her name properly). I've had felt the overused or too strong association thing too, but usually ignore it if it feels right for the character.
